Saamiyah has completed a Masters of Public Health at McMaster University.
She identifies with a number of communities, including the Urdu-speaking, Muslim community and diverse youth. Saamiyah is passionate about community engagement as she has worked at the MIAG Centre for Diverse Women and Families to help organize a Family Sports event and volunteered as a coach for the senior-youth mentorship program.
As a resident of Mississauga, she has a desire to develop her city and build a larger Peel community. Acknowledging that Peel is largely comprised of visible minorities, Saamiyah wants to ensure that their voices are represented in the Community Engagement and Leadership Initiative.
